• echomail.out semaphore

From CyntaxX@21:1/999 to All on Sunday, January 07, 2018 16:04:31
For some odd reason when I post an echomail an echomail.out isn't created in the semaphore dir so the mutil never gets activated. I have to manually run mutil to pack and send msgs out. I have a funny feeling it's some silly setting I'm missing.

In message base settings, when do you have a semaphore set to be created? Logout or message compose?

:) I found the setting but didn't want to spam reply to my own msg. It was in fact set to logout but I changed it to msgpost.

    Thanks for the reply.

Are you logging out or no? By default Mystic creates the semaphore when the user logs out instead of when they post. It's configurable under Message Base Settings on the Configuration tab.
Create Semaphore: On Logout or MsgPost

You may want it logout. The reason is because the user can edit a message
until they logout instead of as soon as they save it, it sends.

On msgpost will let you edit until you disconnect or logout, so it's how I
    use it

Hmm, that's something I'm going to have to think about. The only thing for me is, when I post something I may not logout at all and leave the terminal program running in the background all day. The time for my replys to send out would simulate response times of the 80's/90's lol.

you have to go in your event editors and set these to this.

Yea Semaphore Send outbound echomail N/A

so it exports as the same for inbound.

mae sure your message settings for create semahore is set to logout.

You could leave it set to create on logout and just add a menu option to create the semaphore manually for those times you want to push the messages out without logging out.

Do you have it configured not to create the out files until you logoff? That is the default behavior in Mystic. This is so users can edit their post
until they log out until it sends. Otherwise it sends right away and you
    can't fix typos, etc.

If you want to change it its in the message base settings I think (or somewhere in the configuration)

Ahh, that's using your noggin'! That's a smart idea.

Yea I did, I noticed that setting almost immediately after I posted that message. Oddly enough, that setting would have come in handy after I answered my own question.
