• NetMail from Enig to Mystic

    From NuSkooler@21:1/121 to g00r00 on Tuesday, January 02, 2018 21:05:25
Hey man, I'm hoping you may be able to shed a little light on NetMail packets from ENiGMA to Mystic. I'm attempting to send a AreaFix NetMail on fsxNet (to Avon). His system has the following log:

    ! Jan 02 15:00:05 Import from c:\mystfsx\echomail\in\
    + Jan 02 15:00:05 Importing 38b740f7.pkt (21:1/121 to 21:1/100)
! Jan 02 15:00:05 AREAFIX received from unknown address 0:0/0
    ! Jan 02 15:00:05 Import from c:\mystfsx\echomail\in\unsec\
    + Jan 02 15:00:05 Results: 0 echo, 0 net, 0 dupes, 0 tossed in 0.14s
    + Jan 02 15:00:05 Shutdown Normal (0)

You can see the to/from on the 2nd line, but on the 3rd it says unknown 0:0/0. What would cause this?

The packet includes src/dst information in the packet headers, INTL, and so on.

The 0 address message might be coming from the PKT header.

If you have the PKT itself I'll gladly take a look at it if you want to send
    it my way.

I sent it to your mystic -at- gmail.com support mail ...since I can't send it in a NetMail :)

    Thanks for your help!

Thank you sir. You've been very helpful, and I'm betting I'll hit you up more. I imagine I'm just missing something stupid. In general the packets look OK and
are produced just like EchoMail packets... which of course work.

Did you receive the .pkt I sent? If so, anything interesting?

    Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. I usually get to my e-mail on the weekends, but I haven't taken a look yet. I got stuck on work and then messages and stuff today and I wasn't able to do any programming :(

No worries! I did notice a but in NetMail packets where orig wasn't being properly place in the message header (packet header was OK). Should be fixed now - SBBS's pktdump shows the correct info in new packets, but I'm not sure that Mystic is accepting them still - there might be more off.

I've sent you a updated packet file to reflect the above.

Just in case you didn't see the e-mail, I did look at the latest one and it appears to parse properly in Mystic, so I think you should be okay now.

If for some reason you aren't just let me know and I'll see if its a Mystic issue or what the deal is - but it looks good!

Yessir, thanks for looking. I just sent a reply. I don't think Avon is seeing any (I'm not getting replies to %HELP at least), and my local Mystic still rejects the NetMail packets generated from ENiG -- but perhaps I have something
configured wrong in my Mystic set up.

Attached a new PKT file, hopefully something will stick out. I made sure to use
real addresses in this one (the previous just had dummy data).

Thank you sir! I suspect they are being rejected on your side still, but I think it's close. The packets seem to check out at first glance, so there must be something just slightly off.
