I am trying to figure out why something I have been configuring is not
    behaving the way I expected.

In the Configuration > Message Settings, I have Bases in Group List set to
Yes. In the Message Group Editor, I have 5 ID's, fsxNet, Local, FidoNet, retronet, and Netmail. Each of those areas has various message areas I have tagged with a s10g1, s10g2, s10g3, etc. When I go to the BBS, everything is neatly split up into the group areas.

However, when I go to Configration > File Base Settings, I have Bases in
Groups set to Yes. In the Filegroup area, I have ID's 1 through 7. I have tried setting each individual group to to a s10g1, s10g2, etc and matching those groups to the individual file areas I want in each group.

When I log into the board and go to the File area, whenever I have a g1, g2, etc as part of the security for the file group, no file areas show up. Only when it is just a s10.

Is there a different syntax for groups in the file areas other than g1, g2, etc? Something else I am overlooking?

As it is, I had to create a File group called local and just set everything
at s10 to get all the file areas to show. I would rather split the file
groups up into differnet areas of interest.

Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong? I have looked over Paul's videos, and thus far, nothing seems to specifically address what I am trying to accomplish.

    Thanks.

    Beery

For the file groups, you'll want to use 'z' instead of 'g'. For example, 's10z1', 's10z2', etc.

Zx - This command is used to check if a user is in a certain
File Group. Where X is the number of the group as listed
in the File Group editor. For example, Z1 will require
the user to be in File Group #1 in order to pass the ACS
    check.

I did the same thing when I was setting up Mystic... :)

File groups use "z" code, not g.

I'm /sure/ this has already been answered (playing catch-up this morning) but the syntax is z1, z2, instead of g1, g2.

Happy new year to you! It's just now hitting 12:00 noon on Dec 31st for me (California time). Unfortunately I'm "on call" until midnight which means I have to be on a short leash and can't really...imbibe. But whatever, I'm 35, I've had plenty of fun New Year's Eves already.

Thanks Black Panther. Much appreciated. If it was in the docs or wiki, I never saw it.

    Thanks again.
