• Get QWK mail?

    From Jeffs@21:1/128 to g000r00 on Sunday, December 24, 2017 14:59:22
    Hello g00r00,

I tried again after changing some QWK related settings in Mystic and I still get:

    Exchanging Mail for Dovenet
    - Exported @vert.rep -> 0 msgs
    - Connecting via FTP to vert.synchro.net
    - Connected
    - Logged in as ouijabrd
    - Downloading QWK packet
    - Packet does not exist on remote

I opted to write a bash script to ftp to Vert and get the Qwk mail and have QWKPOLL import it. On the first call after adjusting the message pointers
on Vert I grabbed and QWKPOLL imported some 7000 messages to the Mystic
    message base.

I will continue to look both my settings as well as Vert's to make QWKPOLL work.

What happens when you try running QWKPOLL again immediately after the first time fails?

I get the same response each time I run QWKPOLL. I have checked and verified that "vert.qwk" exists on Vert.

I have experimented with adjusting settings both on Vert as well as locally
for QWK transfers. So far I am getting the same response.

What do you have configured for your QWK packet name for this network? I'll update qwkpoll so it shows the packet name there and some additional message data if available.

I initially I had the packet name set to "Ouijabrd" since my Vert logon name was Ouijabrd but have since changed the packet nanme to "vert" as that is the filename of the packet that is waiting for me to grab from Vert.

I know I'm replying to an old message, but I don't see any newer messages discussing this.

I've very recently set up Mystic, and have gone through this same process.
The Synchronet bbs I'm connecting to is my own, and I can watch the logs on both ends. ftp from the command line works fine, but not qwkpoll. Firewalls
up or down, no difference (they would interfere with command line also and don't)

I worked around this with a script, as previously described. My script is similar and works fine. Just wondering if there is something that has been worked out to address this (we're doing it wrong?) Anyway, it's working fine, but not with qwkpoll. I'm running mys112a41_l64 on Debian Linux.

Thanks, and nice to see this community.
