• FidoPoll Busy?

From peconi@21:1/101 to All on Friday, September 30, 2016 08:50:00
Heyall, my BBS has not received any messages so I am wondering what may be happening.

When I do fidopoll I get a message that nodes are busy:

    mystic@bbs:~/bbs$ ./fidopoll forced
    FIDOPOLL Version 1.12 A31
    Polling ALL nodes...
    Scanning 21:1/100
    21:1/100 is busy; skipping
    Scanning 80:937/0
    80:937/0 is busy; skipping
    Scanning 46:1/100
    46:1/100 is busy; skipping
    Polled 0 nodes

    Any thoughts?

Is my IP (162.213.12.182) maybe blocked?

    Thanks,

    Petar

From CMD go to your Mystic directory and type FIDOPOLL KILLBUSY and it should fix that up. Also in your Semaphores directory check for any .bsy files and delete them.

Check your \mystic\semaphore folder for a fidopoll.bsy file then do fidopoll killbusy from the commanline to remove any others you might have.

Yep, I enjoy that aspect at least as much as just hanging out and messaging. :)

Absolutely, the BEST. I know many commercial products that do not have this kind of support :)

    <and so on>

I went to the point of adding two entries in Events, one at Noon one at Midnight, both just do ./fidopoll killbusy as there were no other events at that time. This happens to all of us, so I just kill it twice a day to make sure. Just did them as scripts under Linux version of Mystic. It seems to me that forced fidopolls tend to do that more than specific polls like
    ./fidopoll 21:1/100
