So when i add a newsgroup it errors and says no such newsgroup. Also, it wouldnt let me open my message group fsxmys anymore either.

It has never been able to open any groups - the error has always been that Linux says it does not have access to those files. As I mentioned in the previous message, I changed it so that you can no longer select the group if the server doesn't have access rights to open the message base files.

Thats the only change I've made recently outside more descriptive error messages.

Can you do a ls -R -la and let me look at the entire directory structure?

Are you running anything else that would be touching the message bases?

Sure but how can I post this to you? You want access to the server via ssh? Email me: nugax@thebytexchange.com

Nope. Nothing but mis. This is a dedicated, datacenter hosted machine.

It's quite a lot. That's why I thought you might just want to look.

Nugax are you by chance running selinux? Just a thought I had to tweak some rules when I was running on Centos with selinux enabled.

I sent it to your gmail, as a txt file. I outputed the command you send with
file.txt to drop it into a text file.

    Should be all you need.

    Thanks,

Thank you very much. I'll take a look into things this weekend.

I've also updated the prealpha last night. It doesn't give any functional update to the NNTP server, but I did change how the error detecting works when accessing a message base. It should now log a numeric error code that I can investigate (hopefully I didn't break anything doing it).

Next time you upgrade your prealpha would you mind testing again and showing
me the log, which should now contain an error number along with that "no access" message.
