• Mystic Wiki ToDo & Scripts List

    Hi,

In Wiki.mysticbbs.com there is a very nice page, in which Sysops can add
their BBS in a spreadsheet. Why not use the same idea to create a ToDo/New Features List and another one, where Programmers/ANSI Creators/Modders etc
can add places/sites/archives where to find material for their Mystic BBS setup?

I'm not sure how many free for all to edit pages g00r00 will want on the wiki but I do have the (somewhat neglected) fsxNet wiki that could happily host those pages :)

Because fsxnet is not a Mystic BBS only network, if we create such a page it should be for all BBS Software and not only for Mystic. If we make one page
for all software it would be confusing for developers to watch, thats why i proposed that for Mystic BBS it should be on the Mystic Wiki, for Synchronet
on its own wiki etc. Except if we make a page for each software :)

For the mods/scripts/doors/etc. page its fine to make it at fsxnet, in one page, cause such material can be used by the majority of the bbs server programs and its common for all.

From my point of view I am happy to host all of the above content on the
fsxNet wiki (wiki.bbs.geek.nz) as it was set up to support the development of BBS systems (Mystic included :)) when FSX_BBS was set up .. and I agree differing pages for each BBS platform are the way to go if pages for the
above are established on that Wiki. As you and several others in the network have access to do this, feel free if you want to :)

I also see the merit in hosting the Mystic content on the Mystic wiki
but am unsure how many 'open' pages g00r00 wants on the wiki vs. having known authors contributing content. He's be able to advise that :)

On the fsxNet wiki folks that requested access to edit it were granted logins when I asked if anyone was interested in contributing. I went with the known contributor option vs anonymous authors as I felt it was better to understand who had contributed what should something need to be revised or discussed further.

    Best, Paul

I agree, the best place for BBS specific documentation is at the wiki for each package, but it might be useful to have a "tips and tricks" page for each package, for things that don't make it to the official documentation.

    Yep, good call. :)
