• A37 prealphas

From g00r00@21:1/108 to All on Monday, December 04, 2017 21:15:56
I uploaded a A37 prealpha for those running Windows and Intel Linux that want to try things. This is mostly for the FSXHUB test but I figured I'd just put it out there for all.

Note that there is a data file upgrade, so you may not be able to roll back to A36 once you upgrade without restoring some backup files. (mystic.dat and *.scn files in DATA and MSGS folders)

This first release fixes the sort-of rare BSY file problem that we saw on FSXhub and adds user packer and user purging to MUTIL, along with a revamp to the data file storage method used to store message and file base scan
    settings.

Thanks for this, have updated 1/100 and 1/101 for now. Will report any issues
    I spot.

A reminder, mis_help still references MIS2 in the body copy of the ANSI.

    Best, Paul

I think I did update it but I never gave instructions to copy the mis_help.ans from the new installation into the DATA directory over the old one.

I think what I am going to do is change it to a ".hlp" file so we can build a nice online help system in there using that help system Mystic has that no
    one ever uses lol

so mbbsutil will be replaced by mutil?

Yes the plan is to do away with MBBSUTIL:

I move FIXINDEX, the file base sorting, and the AREAS.BBS stuff to MUTIL. The BBS list stuff will probably just go away as I will write a BBS list system in MPL or something. After that there will be nothing left in MBBSUTIL so it will go away.

My eventual goal will probably be to have just a single "mystic.exe" and nothing else besides MIDE and MPLC in the scripts directory. So everything will be command lines of "mystic.exe" like this:

    mystic fidopoll 21:1/100
    mystic qwkpoll 1
    mystic terminal
    mystic local
    mystic config
    mystic snoop 1
    mystic killghost 1
    mystic chatuser 1
    mystic who
    mystic util export.ini
    mystic server
    mystic daemon
    mystic nodespy
    mystic killbusy
    mystic fixindex

The help system... I really wanted to use that but what has been missing has been an ability to link to other help pages in the help markup that I am
aware of. I think I may have asked for the ability to link between help
pages way in the distant past but it has been a while so maybe I am imagining this :) In any regard the example file that shipped with Mystic did not
include the markup to show how/if that aspect was possible... but it did show how you could link to sections within the help document and also how to call MPL scripts from the help page.

It would be good to work with you on this :)

You can jump around as much as you want in the same help file which can have
an unlimited number of "pages" within it. If you wanted to jump to another whole help file you could do that with a link that executes the menu command
to open up another help file, but that isn't an elegant solution.
