• Issue sending echomail

From peconi@21:1/101 to All on Sunday, September 25, 2016 16:00:00
    Hey all.

It seems I am all set for receiving messages (echomail), and netmail works without issues to both fsxNet and RetroNet, however, sending echomail does not.

I have everything set the way it should be, and when I post an echomail on my BBS things seem to work:
    1) echomail.out shows up in semaphore
    2) event runs w/ mutil mail_out.ini|fidopoll send|mutil mail_in.ini
    3) I see 00010064 show up in echomail/out/fidonet
    4) mutil log shows the following:

Sep 24 22:49:15 Process: Exporting EchoMail
+ Sep 24 22:49:15 Waiting for BUSY nodes
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Scanning...
    - Sep 24 22:49:15 LINKS:
    - Sep 24 22:49:15 Node 1 21:1/100@fsxnet
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 25 in netmail
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 17158 in fsx_gen
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 558 in fsx_mys
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 40 in fsx_cry
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 106 in fsx_bot
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Resuming from 138 in rtn_general
    - Sep 24 22:49:15 1 msgs from RetroNet General Chat
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Results: 0 echo, 0 net, 0 skipped in 0.01s
    + Sep 24 22:49:15 Shutdown Normal (0)

As you can see, no echomail left the system. The echomail/out/fidonet busy
    file gets deleted. echomail.out also.

All seems to go well, however, no mail leaves the system as when I check on Agency BBS my messages aren't there.

Message Base is configured as one would thing is correct:
    - FSX_GEN for QWK, Echo, and FIle Name
    - Base Type: EchoMail
    - Net Address 21:1/172
    - Real Names: No
    - Private: No
    - Pvt Reply: No

Echomail Node for fsxNet all good (as it also receives messages fine)
    - Active: Yes
    - Archive: ZIP
    - Export Type: Crash
    - AllFix PW: what Paul Gave me
    - Session Type: BinkP
    - Route Info: 21:* (note netmail works fine)
    - TIC Password: what Paul Gave me
    - Zone: 21, Net: 1, Node: 100, Domain: fsxNet
    - All else Defaults
    - Session: agency.bbs.geek.nz:24556
    - Password: what Paul Gave me
    - TimeOut: 60
    - MD5, Hide AKAs: Yes
    - Block: 16384

    Echomail Address is also simple:
    - Address: ZOne: 21, Net: 1, Node: 172, Point: 0
    - Domain: fsxnet
    - Primary : Yes

Anything anyone can see that's out of the ordinary and that would stop me
    from actually delivering echomail?

    Thanks in advance!

Is there a node configured to export to in the message area setup?

... Enter that again, just a little slower.

No there was not. I do not know how I missed that setting when re-setting up the stuff. I am sending this now from my BBS. If you get it, that was exactly what was missing, but I am pretty confident you got it :)

    Thank you :)

Yep that was (I think) something I suggested you check in my email reply to
you at Agency. Glad you got it sorted. Thanks Al :)

It all started when I accidentally deleted echonodes.dat file :)

You are correct, but you said to check if they are linked, and I assumed as
one setting had the node address set, that was it. The key was word "export".

But I thank you for the help none the less :)

The 'node address set' you're referring to I am guessing is the 'net address' field in a message base? If so, no, that's no it. What I meant was (as you
have now correctly figured out) the 'export to' field. So when I referred to checking 'the base is linked to 21:1/100 echonode' that's what was I meant :)

Good it's all working now :)

    Best Paul

so you do have it set for netmail in base type? also do you have nothing in your export list? should not need it mystic does it's own aka matching. you have the nodelist current and imported via mutil? also what is your rout
info on echomail nodes? how many echonets are you running?

Are you still online when you write the echomail?

If you want your echomail to flow when you are still online, you'll have to
    do several things:

    1) Cfg >> Message settings >> Create Semaphore = MsgPost
    2) mail_out.ini >> Under [ExportEchoMail] Add 'skip_online=false'
