From Gryphon@21:1/120 to All on Friday, November 24, 2017 11:58:31
Is anybody having problems getting proto.ans or protob.ans to display? I created a proto.ans file in my text directory, but it doesn't get displayed.
I still get the dynamically generated protocol list whenever I try to do a
    file download.

    Thoughts?

I must not be reading the whatsnew completely or would have done this a long while back instead of using the strings. heh. Gonna test this today and will let you know how or if it works. :)

    Cheers!

I don't know if its still a feature or not. It's in the old documentation,
but it may have been removed some time ago. If you can get it to work,
    please let me know.

Gave this a shot and my strings still displayed, most I can mention maybe the strings changed with the new versions to replace this file. You can do a |DF and add the file that way and remove the need for any other strings etc
    except the prot prompt.

Tried that a few weeks ago and also came to the conclusion that it didnt work on my system.

Actually I would like to have an option to display the selected (active) protocol via a display code ..... which is not available atm ......
That code could also be used to show which proto is active for the user in
    the account settings.

Seems broken to me too. I must have accidentally removed this.

Yep this appears to be completely broken. I just put it on the list to look into. I hope to have this fixed up sometime soon.

You can do a |DF and add the file that way and remove the need for any other strings etc except the prot prompt.

I had considered doing such a thing, but the individual protocols are dynamically created using prompt #061. This makes it difficult to position
the text where I want it.

If you use [X01[Y01 you can position it and draw what you want using the
other prompt like I had. :)

Yeah that is exactly why there is (supposed to be) a proto and protob :)

I'll try to take a look at it tomorrow I have plans this evening and I have been coding all day so I could use a break for the night

It's not a big deal. I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't going crazy.
It's happened more than one time when I thought something was broken and it turned out that I was just doing it wrong.

Yep it goes both ways. In this case I think its pretty broken. I need to revisit the entire protocol selection process and I completely forgot
    yesterday anyway.
