shows a frequent authorization failure but if the poll is
immediately repeated the connection is then successful.

yep, this is kind of like what I have been seeing but really only when
testing later versions of Pre A36. I note your tearline only states A36 so
it's a bit hard to compare apples and apples here :) We may be on slightly different versions. That said I noted g00r00 has done some more work today on this suspected issue and the 'latest' version I will test out tonight may be
a fix for it - dunno... time will tell :)
