• QWK Networks

I was wondering if anyone has any information on how to setup the message
bases correct for QWK based network. I got the qwkpoll part working for the nost part. I just don't know how to fully create the message bases for each
    QWK network message conference.

I think I just need to know what values go to the follow fields.

    QWK Name
    QWK Base ID

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Base ID is generally 8 character all caps name like FSX_GEN or FSX_MYS
Name is what your board calls that message area like FSX General or FSX
    Mystic.

I've got 4 QWK networks running here...

The QWK Name is for offline mail readers. You only need to put that in if you are planning on running the NNTP server from within Mystic.

You would need to set up both the QWK Network and QWK Base ID within the message base setup. The QWK Network will show a list of QWK networks that are set up within Mystic, just hit enter on the one that applies.

The QWK Base Id, should be supplied in the networks information packet. Each network has a selected number range they use, which does not conflict with other networks.

Once you have those set up, you should be good to go. I did release a step-by-step instruction for setting up QWK networks with Mystic some months ago. It is available here on CRBBS if you are interested.

    Hope this helps.

The network needs to provide the Base ID to you in their information
packet. Each Base should have a numeric ID associated to it, and that is
what you would put in that field.

QWK Name is just for display within legacy QWK packets. The reason its a separate option compared to the "Name" field is because QWK only allows 13 characters or something insanely limiting. This field just allows you to optionally make better use of those 13 characters to describe the area, if
    you want to.
