From themadtux@21:1/172 to All on Monday, October 02, 2017 19:37:02
Having a bit of an issue with uploads. Basically they don't seem to be working. Upload a file and it never prompts for the file. I've tried with both Zmodem and SexyZ and neither one prompts for the file to upload. Has anyone seen this and know of a fix?

    cheers,

    -tMt

Well I know if you using Netrunner the netrunner.cfg {paths} need to actually exist. You can put files in the /nr20/up/ folder then when you upload it will show all the files in that {path}. Maybe next time say what your trying to upload with?

yeah I'm using SyncTERM as my terminal. I'm going to give Netrunner a go and see how that does. Maybe it's Sync ...

SexyZ isn't built in, but Zmodem is and should start the handshake so your
end (SyncTERM) prompts you for what file to upload. Under data there should
be protocol.dat which is a part of it. Under Mystic Configuration, Editors, P Protocol Editor you should see the first (built in) group as Active and under Zmodem :
    Active Yes
    OS All
    Batch Yes
    Hot Key Z
    Description Zmodem
    Send Command @zmodem
    Recv Command @zmodem
Zmodem 8K is almost the same but hot key 8 and @zmodem8

yeah I installed SexyZ so that seems to be working. Z still doesn't seem to
    be working. It's weird!

Yeah it's all set to active. Not sure if it's SyncTERM or what.. need to try it with netrunner. I think..

So you have SexyZ working then so can transfer stuff. That's good, you could
go in to the prompts and change them to agree with what's working and then it will be as functional as any other BBS, just not to mystic standard. It will
be to BBS standard though like SBBS or anything else and have all the usual features. So users will be just fine in general with that.

So you seem to have a weird problem there. Not sure how download is setup, but are both mis & mis2 running? I noticed your listed as Windows/32 so both should be running, but I've noticed on mine (x64) only mis2.bsy in the semaphore directory so I think mis may not be working correctly. I have the Mystic Internet Server window running and it's showing my connection right now. I'll give it a shot with syncterm and see if I can download ir if it shows the problem your having.

It is weird and what I found was also weird, but worked. I downloaded with both syncterm and ftp on my x64 setup with only mis2 showing in semaphore directory, but mis was running and ftp working so I don't know what goes on there. The mis server window was up and working, but there was no semaphore, yet ftp worked fine (or as it should anyway for mystic). Mystic has a
stripped down ftp with no ls command and many others missing as well, dir
does work and what commands are there do work fine so it can be used as long
as you know what your doing. A number of clients have trouble with this, but real people should be able to handle it just fine (you just need to guess commands till you find what works - then your fine). So not sure why your having issues with it on Windows32 as the Windows64 version seems to work OK. You've checked that badip.txt and blacklist.txt for your IP being there?

That was what caused my Invalid data frame error from this system, I deleted the IP from those two and added 10.0.* to goodip.txt and whitelist.txt so it won't happen again. It was odd in that it was one sided, I couldn't poll
the Hub from this system, but could poll this system from the Hub. On most of the Hubs I've built I had that (goodip & whitelist) setup with the local network from the start, but I guess I forgot this last time in my rush to get it up and running. The odd part was it only effected this system, but I think that was due to filezilla which I tried from this system and crashed it. Once that was done I had to fix the badip & blacklist files.

yeah I checked both of those and the IP I was trying to upload from was not
in there.. it's weird for sure. But as long as SZ is working I guess it's
not that big of a deal, I could turn off Z and force SZ.

    thanks for the help!

If you're using Zmodem, Mystic doesn't need to ask you for filenames. You just queue up whatever files you want and send them and Mystic will automatically detect and do the rest.

There could be something else going on though, but you shouldn't expect
Mystic to ask you for filenames.

This is simply not true. Mystic supports fully supports the RFC-level it has implemented.

Which clients? As of now 100% of the reported FTP issues have been user error, or lack of understanding of FTP and firewalls. Let me know and I can test
    the clients you speak of.
