• File tossing to points

From bl00d@21:1/162 to All on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 12:09:08

I run another BBS as a point off my Mystic setup and I am trying to get
file echos to toss to it. I've added the node as an export node for
those file echos, but when files come in, mutil reports

"Skip toss to 1:19/50.1 (inactive/no filebox)"

So I setup a filebox and it does send to the point bbs, but it doesn't
seem to update the TIC file and the point BBS doesn't like it because it
says it is not for it's node.

So I guess that allfix/file echos are not really setup to handle point
    nodes maybe?

Any ideas? I guess my only option is to get a real node number for the
point BBS, which would probably be the best idea. But I was trying to
    save nodelist space :)

    Thanks,

    Kev

Mystic A33 does work fine (on Pi), there has to be setup problems. First echomail doesn't need a filebox, files do. Exporting the echos to the point system (binkp) works just fine both ways. The areafix & filefix are built in and work as long as netmail is setup (should be first thing to do). Configuration, EchoMail Nodes, are added for the point systems. The Netmail Exports To 0 node(s) - it will automatically work. That goes for both sides (Hub and Point system). The Echomail areas do Export to the point system and the main hub (FSXNet Hub 21:1/100 for me). I'd suggest getting the EchoMail working before the files and filebox setup. They are independent of each
other. AllFix should work fine if netmail is setup, so you can use it to
setup the exports and check they are setup.

Use FileBox has No, Any, Hold. I use Hold and use the system name as the filebox name. I generally use the same password for both AllFix & TIC.
FileFix sets that up and can check it. All file areas go through the one box directory.

The echomail side of things has been working, and working fine for
several months. I was just trying to get file echos working.

I'll mess with this some more and I also need to double check my
settings in Allfix on the point side.

    Thanks!

    Hello everybody.

    Copying a post I made in Allfix_Help - I'll probably get a better response in here :)

I am having some problems running allfix as a point off my mystic bbs. When TICs come from the Mystic BBS, everything in the TIC looks right, but Allfix is moving it to the badtics area.

Here is the log snippet, any help is appreciated

Does the BBS you received it from (the Mystic BBS that sends you the TIC) run on Linux, OSX, or Pi while you are running on Windows by chance?

I just had the realization that maybe some DOS TIC processors cannot read Unix-format text files. I'm going to change A35 to always write out MS-DOS format .TIC files regardless of the OS.
