• Oneliner dat fixer

Hey mate.. I love your oneliner dat editor fixer program.
Heres what id like to see implemented if possible.

Could you please add the ability to use the Pipe Character in your program?

I loaded up oneliner and started to edit the oneliner.dat
because someone had screwed up the Mystic pipe color codes
in their one liner which looked like ass and tried to add
the pipe character | but it wouldn't accept it

I think this ability would be a welcome function.

    Thankfully

    Hawk;
I will look into that for you. It should accept them, but I will look at the code and see whats going on. I may end up Re-Writing it somewhat...

    Hawk;
I pulled up the program and realized I only included characters 32 to 122... The | is 125... I hate it when that happens...
So I've Added that capability to the program and have Re-Compiled it and saved it back to the OneLiner.zip file. I do not know how to Upload the file to fsxNet, Paul was going to make a Video of how to do that when A35 comes out... So you will have to log onto anotherbbs.bbsindex.com, go to the
File Area (Mystic Group), Mystic Utils/Mode area and Re-Download OneLiner.zip again.
Unzip it into your /mystic/data directory as before, overwrite the files there already...

Thanks for bringing this up to my attention so I can correct that...

I also just added reference information for Pipe Colors in the Editor so people can use Pipe Colors and not have to look at a local reference, it's right there on the screen when editing.

I wish there was a way to have multiple instances of oneliners. So I could
have a different set of oneliners for each of my themes, perhaps by
specifying a particular .dat file in the menu editor.

Hmmm Interesting you mention that. I've been considering whether to make a Stand-Alone One-Liner type of program that could be configured in different ways. I was in the "Plan-In-My-Head" phase for the program.

Thanks for the idea of having different .dat files, or at least the option to run a stand-alone program with the ability to use different Headers, Footers and .dat information... Currently, the Header and Footer for Mystic resides
in the Prompts for each "Theme" so you Could in fact have a different "Look" for your OneLiner already, but it would use the same .dat file...

I think I could make such a program, so hang tight a few days, I may be able
    to create a stand-alone One-Liner for Mystic.

Yeah I reckon an MPL wouldn't be too hard to gin up.

I don't mind the same dat file to be honest, but with multiple themes, each
of my oneliner walls has a different look, and in some cases, I have to restrict the length of the input in different ways to prevent the length from breaking the themes. I should probably just redesign everything and that
    would solve my problems, heheh.

OK, having looked at that the only thing in common at the moment is the data directory. XQ-DAWALL doesn't use it so if you use XQ's DAWALL oneliner it
will be different for each theme (the script directory is different for each theme and his stores it all under the script directory). So, try using that.
I just added it to my AlphaTest system so I'll have to put it in each theme
so see how that is - I suspect I'll have trouble with the ASCII theme ;)
Still that's why I have an AlphaTest system with multiple themes ;)

In truth XQ-DAWALL already works that way - it stores everything under the scripts directory and there is a separate scripts directory for each theme. Still I have an ASCII theme and XQ's is very ANSI depend so I might have to use something else for that theme. Another thing for your planning ;)

I do not know if you know this. I just finished a One-Liner Alternative MPL program that does what you want.

    1) It allows for Multiple .DAT files, Multiple Display files, all with just 1 program that you call/run with different parameters (Pointing to different Config files).

    2) You can have a different look for each .Dat file or even different look
    for the same .Dat file).

    3) You can select from 1 to 20 lines to be displayed instead of the limited
10 lines currently for Mystic One-Liner.

Not putting down g00r00's One-Liner at all. It is a very good program. I wrote mine so I could have more flexibility and options.

You can Log Onto Another F-ing BBS (anotherbbs.bbsindex.com) and download 1liner.zip and try it out for yourself.

Break the Web, is a pretty complex game. There's a lot the user needs to
figure out when first starting to play. I think I'm getting the hang of it though. I just need to connect and play more often. :)

Yes, I wanted to make it more realistic and not like the other BBS Door Game "BBS Hack"... I also wanted to have a lot of different things so it would be more realistic. Now keep in mind, one can never Break the Web because there
are just sooo many entities to attack (Non-Human).. But it's fun to play, attack other players and see how big your (System) can get...
