    Hi g00r00

Just wondering if the 'max comment lines' field in the file base settings
    is now defunct?

I ask as I was doing a little bit on the Mystic Wiki tonight and noted that
we had this happen back in Alpha 3

    [snip]

+ acs_comment field in MUTIL FILEBONE and FILETOSS have changed to acs_hatch
so update your .INI files if you use these and want to set hatch ACS in
    those situations.

    [snip]

So I figure that perhaps the main config setting is now no longer applicable?

    Best, Paul

    While I'm on this topic.

Can you refresh my memory as to the description I should put against 'bases
    in groups' on http://wiki.mysticbbs.com/doku.php?id=config_file_base_settings

    Many thanks :)

Yes, it was replaced in the INI file because its not something used at all.

At one point, users were going to be able to leave comments and ratings on each file in the file database. I never finished this work and instead decided to focus on hatching first.

If its set to yes, Mystic will calculate the number of bases found in each group. If its set to no, it will skip it.

This was added back in the 90s when computers were slow, because some really big systems could pause a bit while calculating that figure. The work around was to just have the ability to turn it off if you had a big system running
    on a slow computer.

These days even a Raspberry Pi is probably fast enough, which makes that setting redundant. Maybe I should remove it someday I just haven't bothered.
