• Load mpl in ansi screen

From MaDDoG@21:2/125 to All on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 16:18:36
    Hi there everybody,

I wonder if it is possible to load an mpl in a ansi file. I have tried to set |GX whatever.mpl in the ansi screen but that doesn't work.

I hope someone can give me an answer.

No, you can't do that. What is it you're trying to do though because you shouldn't really need to do this. There is probably a different way to do
    the same thing.

    Hi G00R00,

I was wondering because i wanted to load a loader mpl in a certain area of a ansi. But if you know a better way to do this then let me know. And maybe a n00b question where can i change the message colors when i read messages on
my own BBS? I tried msg_reader.ini but when i changed the colorcodes in the first section there was no difference when i read messages. Or does it had to do something that the colors are set when new messages arrive?

You could just have the MPL run first and then MPL shows the ansi, not the other way around?

Allowing an MPL to be executed from within text (an ansi or a message, etc) would be a giant security risk which is why it is not allowed.

I need more of a description of exactly what you are trying to change, but everything in Mystic can be changed either by the ".ini" files, or ANSI
    files, or prompts.

There are two types of readers and many different "modes" so it all depends
on exactly what you're trying to change.

    Hi g00r00,

The colors I want to change are the light cyan, yellow and lightblue colors when I read messages. So color codes 11, 14 and 09 which are default. I
presume i have to change everything in my custom theme folder. This is the place where I do all my changes but can't find the place to change these colors.

If you are talking about the actual message text, the defaults are in System Configuration -> Message Settings. The settings there are used as defaults whenever you create a new message base.

Each message base has its own configuration for message text colors. If you go into the message base editor you'll find that each message base has its own settings for message text colors.

There are multiple readers in Mystic, so if you want to change more just be very specific about what it is you want to change and I can point you into
the right direction. Rest assured that pretty much everything can be changed in Mystic.

No worries, it takes a little time to learn where everything is and most
people here do not mind helping out when they can!

    Thnx g00r00,

Can you tell me how to change the colors when you reply to messages. I mean
the from, to, subj, stat, base (left side) msg #, date, refer to, see also (right side).
Also the filelist ansi ansiflst.ans is an animation ansi right? I can't change it in PabloDraw but i have some better results in TDRAW but not completly. Where is ansiflst.ans linked with?

It depends on which reader you are using. You can go to your account options and look to see what you are using.

By default ANSIMRD.ANS in c:\mystic\text is UI for the full screen reader.

MSGHEAD.??? is the default for the classic reader message header but there isn't one to edit. If you want a custom classic message header you have to create it.

These are configurable per message base though in the settings so they can be whatever you want.

    g00r00,

It was the full message reader that did the trick. My sysop account didn't
use but all other users have it by default. I guess this was due to my sysop was the first account that was created. Thnx for helping me mate.
