• Remote disconnect

From Cmech@21:2/117 to All on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 21:04:28
    Hi All,

What does it mean when a system calls via BinkD (24554) and right before file transfer would take place (according to the log) it just logs "Remote disconnect"? MIS2 BinkD Win32 1.12 A33 does this on all my inbound BinkD connects. FidoPoll works fine {shrug}. I reverted back to MIS BinkD and all is fine now. {chuckle} Any ideas? All options for BinkD servers are identical.

It could relate to incorrect session passwords being exchanged between
systems. It may also be you have the IP of the incoming system logged in your Mystic DATA directory in the badip.txt file or blacklist.txt file.

What are your BinkP server settings?

    Best, Paul

    Hi Avon!

    18 May 2017 21:33, from Avon -> Cmech:

It could relate to incorrect session passwords being exchanged between systems.

Also try entering it in the same case (eg lower or UPPER) on both sides.

It may also be you have the IP of the incoming system logged in your Mystic DATA directory in the badip.txt file or blacklist.txt file.

Shouldn't it log a message that the IP matched badip/blacklist and the connection gets dropped?

REMOTE disconnect means that the other side sends a RST TCP packet.
Probably because the MYS2 binkp implementation violated the binkp protocol. (Especially as it seems to work with MYS1)

Settings are the same on MIS & MIS2 but only MIS works on inbounds :(

    Use Server Yes

These are MIS BINKP settings, not MIS2.

You're not running them both at the same time are you?

Had to move everything to MIS so I could take MIS2 down. MIS goes offline but my script looks for a Window Title (MIS is same as MIS2) so it never brings it back up. If I can figure out a way to change the Title (Start cmd with a title gets overriden by program somehow) I will revert back to both :)
