Once again I apologize in advance for my newbie questions (I should probably just add a formal apology to my auto sig lol).
I starting to mess around with the prelogin menu and realized a lot of these old legacy apps won't run in a Windows 7 shell, even in 32bit.
I originally had some of the stuff setup in DOSBOX with PCBOARD but the documentation on PCBOARD is so limited and no one seems to use it
anymore so I ended up switching to Mystic.

Hello all,
Once again I apologize in advance for my newbie questions (I should probably just add a formal apology to my auto sig lol).

I know Mystic won't run in DOS so I was thinking of trying XP mode or VMWare but before I go too far shooting in the dark I thought I'd check with you guys.
Just looking for a kick in the right direction. Maybe some search terms for workarounds I can research. Thanks!
Is Win 7 32 bit? Or are you just running Mystic 32 bit? Even runningI installed Win7 32bit and replaced the 64bit Mystic binaries with the
programs on this system. I do have DOSBOX set up, but I wasn't able to
get it to run very well with any type of doors. When trying to run doors with DOSBOX and Doorway, the ANSI was messed up, along with not being
very stable. I ended up setting up another networked computer with Linux Ubuntu on it, and set up a telnet connection from one system to the
other. Under Ubuntu, I can run DosEMU to be able to use online 16 bit doors.
I don't know if that really answers your question or not...
I do ALL my development and run Mystic, WildCat! BBS (DOS flavor) etc.
in a Windows XP Virtual Machine (called Windows XP Mode or Virtual XP Mode) including all those timeless 16-bit DOS utilities (as I imagine Doors would, too). It's a freebie from Microsoft though MS wants you to
Holler if ya need ...
Most anything should run under Windows 7 32 bit. What is the error exactly? Runtime error 200? If so, check out: http://www.pcmicro.com/elebbs/faq/rte200.html
Sounds about right. On both DOSBOX and some super awesome "Why aren't using Linux?" feature of Linux. I was trying to avoid opening a new can, but I should probably bite the bullet and learn Linux. At least for this application.
