• How to delete users in Mystic?

From Balky@21:1/192 to All on Monday, April 10, 2017 12:58:00
    Hi,

I'm using the current Alpha version of Mystic. How do you delete users here? I've marked an user deleted, but I can't find the -UPACK option for mbbsutil. I'm using the GNU/Linux x86_64 version of Mystic.

UPACK was depreciated as a command some time ago by the author g00r00. I
think the idea was to move the functionality into a stanza in MUTIL but that has yet to happen. Although the back end looks a but unsightly with the
DELETED labels, rest assured they are gone from the user base.

Thanks a lot, Paul. :) This information is probably not yet clearly stated in the official documentation. It would have been very difficult for me to dig this up on my own. I guess this is one of the reasons why I love to post in echomail areas. :)

Definitely. :) Another term I would use to describe him is Guru.

Very true. I never intended for it to take so long for me to get a
replacement in; it was supposed to only be a week or two after I removed the packing function.

I'll see what I can do.

    Hi g00r00 :)

Welcome back, I hope this finds you well.

Thanks for the work on Mystic as and when you're able to do so - it's appreciated.

Good to see you in the Matrix again James.

Yea as far as deleting users goes some of us have hundreds of users in the
user record and its a pain in the ass scrolling to find a user in there
sifting through all the deleted users that we just want the fuck gone :)
OUT of the list. If they want to reapply then fine. Wish my user data base
was nice and cleaned up without all those old ghost users to look at. ugh
If there was a user search in the user editor that would speed things up.

    Hope you are well

You can just start typing the user name in the user editor's user list, and Mystic will jump to it. All of the "list boxes" work that way in Mystic, similar to the index readers on the BBS side.

I know thats probably not exactly the response you were looking for... :) But you should be able to find a user in a second or two by just typing in their name.

I'll try to get off my ass and get that user packer done in MUTIL soon(ish)!

Well blow me down.. That works. You can type in a user name and it will go to it. How come i never knew this before? I don't remember any documentation on
a user search in the editor. Wish i had known this before. Thanks for the tip.

Glad you find it useful! It was added back in the 1.10 days when the new UI was put in to replace the old one.
