I'm running Windows Mystic A31.
My mis went down last night with this error:

Runtime error 216 at $00417700Switch ESC/Shutdown
$00417700

Any ideas what caused this?

Runtime error 216 is a general protection fault, Mystic tried to access
memory that was uninitialized or invalid.

In other words, it's a mystic bug.

Thanks. I just rebuilt this box with a new HD so its not a hard drive issue.

Nah. I think most people run mis in a looping batchfile to work
around that particular bug :)

I've seen error 216 as well and usually with MUTIL at times that seem to
relate to a file being locked or corrupt when the process is being run. I
have seen it once with MIS under Win 7 and unsure what caused it as the batch file I had running at the time restarted it 5 seconds later so I missed much
of the screen output.

I forgot about that batch file. Will star using it. This happens about once a week when i wake up and check the board it's down with that error.

About an hour after reading this message, I had an error 216 pop up from
MUTIL. I had a mail packet from a node that was corrupt. The logs stated it
was the system memory was corrupted, but it was the packet.

Since this happened right after reading your message, I think I'm going to blame you for this one... ;)

Either that, or it's that damn Murphy and his laws again...
