Hi All,
I was just wondering if there was a way to send a 'pause' command after displaying a file?
I was setting up a menu to display score ansi files from some of the
games on here. Most of them don't have a pause, so it will quickly
display the file, and redraw the menu, making it impossible to read the information.
The only thing that I was able to find, was the -Y command, which
displays a 'Yes/No' prompt for the user. I put that in after the 'GD' to display the file. It works, but I'd prefer to just have a pause.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
I would suggest you put a |PA
in the file where you want it to be paused... It may work with Mystic
and displaying a file ...

Why not just add |PA to the file? Thats the pipecode for Pause. :)

As these are score files from door games, I didn't want them to be overwritten when the game is played again. I'm not sure how the games write the ansi score files, if it's completely rewritten, or if it just edits the particular line in the file.

Then use the GT command and in the data use |PA and it will send a pause after you display the file with the GD command.
Let me know if this works, also check out gryphon's called gfiles mpl I use it on my BBS and works great for this purpose.
Check out my online games then S for scores to see what I had done to
make it look and feel like my own. :)

That works perfectly. I noticed the command, but didn't think to use it for that. Thank you.

I have Gryphon's gfiles, but haven't looked much at it. Perhaps I'll
have to take a closer look. I've been loving his MPLs he's made.
Well... I understand what you are doing now. I've just written a down
and dirty utility called INSERTPA.ZIP (on my bbs). It is to be run in your Batch file that runs the door. It's really simple.
