    Hi All,

I've got another question, and this one is about the areas.bbs file generated by MBBSUTIL. I know this is something that is being depreciated in the development of Mystic.

I have my message base files, set up in /mystic/msgs/network1/*.j*. For example, /mystic/msgs/fsx/fsx_gen.jdt, etc. Each network is now in it's own sub-directory.

When I generate the areas.bbs, this is the output that I receive:

    !c:\bbs\mystic\data\10th_amd 10th_amd 0:0/0
    !c:\bbs\mystic\data\ra_32bit ra_32bit 0:0/0
    !c:\bbs\mystic\data\aarp_fraud aarp_fraud 0:0/0
    !c:\bbs\mystic\data\adept_sysop adept_sysop 0:0/0
    !c:\bbs\mystic\data\bbs_ads bbs_ads 0:0/0
    snip<---

    It should read:
    !c:\bbs\mystic\msgs\fido\10th_amd 10th_amd 1:317/3
    etc...

I don't have any of the message files in the /data/ directory, and none of
the addresses are in the file. Has there been changes to Mystic, that has changed the setup for this file? It makes the util kinda useless for anything which it may be needed for...

Sort answer is I don't know but suspect yes as g00r00 had made a number of changes that involved updates to key .dat files. I agree with your findings and have also felt the output was not usable. As far as I know the intention
was/is to depreciate all functions of MBBSUTIL and move them to stanzas that could be run from within MUTIL ini files.

I'd rate it 8 out of 10 likely something is broken in MBBSUTIL now with
respect to that function. Only g00r00 will really be able to comment.

    Best, Paul

Thanks Paul. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have something set up improperly on my end. :)

Stupid question, Is there an easy way to import areas.bbs to the bbs? I downloaded a file to do it but haven't played with it yet as it is DOS and I
am runing Win/64 so most likely it won't work well. Is there a way through mutil? Thanks..

    Hello All!

Does Mystic have an areas.bbs type file for importing into GoldEd? Would certainly make set a bit easier..

    Regards,

    Nitro

There was at one time a utility called mbbsutil maybe but I forget now. It would create and areas.bbs. Most of mbbsutils functions have been moved into mutil today but I don't think that one was, sorry to say.

Copy, paste and edit is the only thing I can think of.

It used to, there was a UTIL that created one but it was depreciated some
time back. While you can use such a file to suck in files to filebases via MUTIL function you can't (as far a I know) get Mystic to create one. Agree it would be nice to have.
