• Video - Theme/Prompt Editor Pt3

From Avon@21:1/101 to All on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 21:20:00
I have added a new video tonight that looks at how to use the prompt editor
to update fields that alter the displayed message numbering when using the
    ANSI message reader.

fsxNet nodes with stock Mystic installs may like to watch this to see how
dates and five digit message numbering can be achieved.

    Hope it helps someone :)

    Best, Paul

I'm gonna have to take a look at making those changes. It's not that big of
an issue here, as I have max messages set to 10,000 per base, but there are always more in the fsxNet chat echo... :)

Great job on these videos. They are very well done and informative.

I have to echo what Dan says here. Awesome stuff, that answers my
original question 100%. I will manufacture some time over this weekend
to make these changes, and to also change the column names with PabloDraw.

Cheers ears... glad it helps :)

If anyone can walk me through the basics of how to use PabloDraw that would
be grand. To be honest I could not get it to do much other than display the original file, when I went to edit it, it did not seem to be working
correctly. I will likely need to keep using my trusty The Draw on a XP box
    for now.

    Hello Paul,

Thanks again for this! I could not wait for the weekend, and managed to get things fixed up nicely. It took me a few edits with PabloDraw to get the
column names lined up correctly, but now it looks great.

Hmm, I wonder... Is TheDraw a DOS or Win32 package? If the former, I will try and see if it works in Dosbox, or the latter under Wine. Does anybody here
have experience with running TheDraw on a Linux box?

    Regards,

As far as I know, it's only DOS. I've got it running here in a Dosbox under Win10 64bit, and it runs fine.

anybody here have experience with running TheDraw on a Linux box?

Haven't tried that yet. I'll have to do some experimenting in the next couple days...

I've not tried running it directly, it's a DOS program so it would have to
run it under DOSBOX. I run it under DosBox on my Raspberry Pi using Raspian Jesse....

I got it changed in PabloDraw over here. It took a bit to get everything
lined up properly, but it works.

What I ended up doing, is setting the width to 83 columns, to be able to account for the CLR code at 1,1. I then had to remove one row from in the message listing area in the middle, as I was getting the "continue" prompt
    when displaying in Mystic.

If you'd like, I can send you a copy of what I've got.

Thanks again for the great video.

Yes please and well done. Would you be happy if I were to share this with the wider community or a version you were happy to release?

Thanks again for the great video.

    You're most welcome :)

Don't think of it as a new program. Look at it as a new version of TheDraw
for Windows. It has a lot of the same functionality as TheDraw, but it's much cleaner, in my opinion.
