Can you elaborate on why Arista over Cisco...

OK, so considering Juniper & Cisco.

Has some interesting hardware, and indeed I have deployed some Juniper boxe
the not too distant past (some old
ACX's for "reasons", and some MX204's). I would be hesitant to deploy new Juniper right now until I see how the HP acquisition plays out. The MX204
nice box, but between HP and Micron I'd have to think twice right now.

    Hi tassiebob,

Thanks for the insight (I'm a network engineer too). In $workplace we will be replacing our Cisco gear for new stuff. What it will be remains to be seen as we need to go through an RFP.

In the past I have managed a Cisco IP Contact Center Enterprise. State of the art, super redundant except when it wasn't... I ended up with a direct connection to the voice devs (bypassing our supplier and TAC altogether). Interesting times... But reading your story and thinking about my own experiences sometimes makes me want to spend the rest of my working days driving a train or bus ;)

Agree! Their whole licensing model is terrible!

True that, and we have specified that we're looking for something simple in the next round :)

Only thing I'm seeing this with are their shitty FTD's.

*touch wood* have to say that the ones I manage are running fine actually.

That's good, but I'm finding every couple weeks HA gets out of a sync and you gotta bounce the FTD in question...
