I'm probably asking this in the wrong spot. But how do you do the Robot Postings? Is it a program for Mystic or do you have to do it manually?

They can be done manually, but it can also be automated using the mutil command. There is a stanza in the mutil.ini for posting text files into the message base.

Paul did an awesome video on this. If you go to YouTube, and search for
Mystic Guy. Here is a link to that video:

He even talks about the bug in the current version of Mystic in regard to the MSGID issues. Great video. Give him a thumbs up for it. :)

    Hope this helps.

It's part of mutil, so you can make a post.ini that does:
    [General]

    PostTextFiles = true

Just to mention if you are looking to post the same thing to multiple bases
at the same time it's best to call them with a separate ini file for each and put a few secs delay between each time mutil is run. This avoids the same message being posted across multiple echo areas with the same message id..

Some systems will see this and only allow one message in an echo to be
imported and reject the rest of the items posted in other echos.

    MSGID needs to be unique.

Mystic sadly massively violates that requirement :(

True depending on how you use it. You can use mutil's 'robot' send if you
send one message at a time with a second or so between them it's fine, no
MSGID problems. If you use QWK to only send one message per rep packet the sames goes - it will work. QWK isn't very useful that way, the robot sends
    are.

Yeah, I just like the way I have SBBS setup, and use its QWK support. I need to get my head around Mystic groups and work out how to neatly auto create echoes into the right groups. :)

I already have a Mystic system, it is technically a Fidonet point, though I don't carry any Fido echoes. However, you could send me a Fido netmail to the point. :) On FSXnet, the Mystic system is a full node.

My Mystic system has evolved more to become a hub, actually providing services is almost secondary to mobing mail and files. SBBS is my main point for actually reading echomai (as well as being a QWK hub for a couple of nets). I haven't bothered with a dedicated point, mainly because I have multiple machines I could read mail on. QWK is a much better solution for my needs, and that works well on SBBS.

Personally, I prefer mystic for both... but Mystic does have a lot to be added to the tosser, mainly a means to lock coordinator echos away from non coordinator nodes. Synchronet has an ODD way of doing this but you have to keep editing your fidonet.na file to move them to a ficoord.na file... it's complicated where theoretcally if mystic applied the same security level logic to nodes with file/mail echos it would be one of the most robust hub softwares out there (once the timestamp bug and re-wrap issues are corrected.)

Think you mean duplicate MGSID, because the seconds are rounded down, which is actually the same issue as mutil has. However, it's much easier to real with mutil, because you can script individual postings, whereas with QWK, you have to write, upload, write, upload individually, which is a pain!
