Hey guys,

Question about Mystic serving my other BBS. I have a daydream board I'm
working on and want to duplicate mail on that board. What would the steps be
on the Mystic side of things to export all mail to my other board, and then serve as the upstream server for mail originating from my other board?

I have a few boards running (Synchronet, Telegard & Mystic) and I've experimented with having each as them "main" node. (For no other reason than just to re-learn these things after so many years).

I set each "sub" board up as point of the main node.

Mystic = 21:3/110
Telegard = 21:3/110.1
Synchronet = 21:3/110.2

So I setup the new board with the point address and add that as a Node in Mystic. Set the FIX password in the node, which is the Areafix password of the
point.

Then you can send a netmail from the new "point" board to Mystic:

To: Areafix
Subject: <FIX Password>

Body of message:

%ALL (to subscribe to all echos)
%RESCAN (to bring over the 250 most recent messages per echo)

Or you can:

+ECHO R=999 (Subscribe to an echo and get the most recent 999 messages)

After that, mystic will process the Areafix request and send the messages on to
the point.

It's not accessible at the moment while I'm switching things up (moving
mystic from the NUC to the Pi & re-formatting the NUC).

How do you like the NUC? I was thinking of getting one to host my new BBS
Door game so that BBSes can connect to it centrally. Having the extra HP available to process more (the game needs some power for enemy path calculations) is why I think the NUC would be advantageous but wanted to know how others that own them feel about them.

I have one that I use as an emulation station and it's fantastic. Might be overkill for a doorgame, but hey...computing horsepower is cheap these days :)

I quite like it for two reasons: Size & Power Consumption.

The old "server" I had was a large HP tower w/ an i5, a DVD burner & 2 spinning
1TB drives. It still works & does the job, but I don't really need something that big & powerful.

The NUC literally fits in one hand, has a 128GB MSATA SSD as the boot drive and
a 2nd 2.5" 256GB SSD for any extras (which is currently empty) & runs off of a 65W power brick.

I have the 2013 version which I got off of eBay for $130:

I have a Wemo Insight Plug which tells me how much power whatever is plugged into it uses. I should plug the NUC into it for a month to get an idea how it costs to run.

I'm running my BBS on one of those (i3, 8 GB, 250 GB SSD) and it's cool and quiet and has been working like a charm for two years now.

The downside would be that there appears to be no fan specs available without tearing the NUC apart and checking the label, so hard to get one in advance (like I did for my NAS).
