    Hi,

I'm now testing Mystic's QWK support. Hopefully, this will be a more pleasant experience for me than using NNTP.

works great if your a node, not so much if you try to be a hub. I found as a hub, Synchronet boards could not connect to me so I ended up running
Synchronet as my QWK hub and Mystic as my network node.

Synchronet makes a nice QWK hub, I use it too for that role. I use Mystic as my FTN hub. :)

Mystic has a bug in MSGID using QWK/QWKE, All or most messages from a session will have the same MSGID, all or most of the rest of the message is fine and unique, but Fidonet relies on the MSGID and kicks the other messages you send in that session (after the first) as dupes because of the MSGID. This is only in reply packets that have more than one reply, but NNTP doesn't have that problem as all the messages aren't sent at virtually the same time as the QWK/QWKE reply packet is. The same problem exists with MUTIL posting of messages (if you do one at a time with a second between it's fine).

Just was about to post a message on a similar subject (Mystic/QWK).

Currently I have a "fake" FTN network between my D'Bridge hub and Gaylen's system (Synch) in which he gates Dovenet from QWK to FTN for me. I just got word that he is unfortunately shutting down his system at the end of January.

So, I'm in need of another feed for Dovenet and method of them arriving. Right
now, D'Bridge acts as my hub and feeds Dovenet to my WWIV BBS and Mystic BBS.

The question at this point is what would be a good way to do this going forward? First I need a new feed and should I use Mystic QWK and then is there
a way to then feed my WWIV BBS from Mystic by somehow gating it from QWK to FTN?

Just trying to figure out some options at this point.

    Thanks!

What I do know is from :
    http://www.synchro.net/docs/dove-net.txt

    Q. What is DOVE-Net?

    A. DOVE-Net is a message network connecting numerous BBSes and the
users on those BBSes together through QWK and Fido networking
technologies. DOVE-Net consists of primarily Synchronet {tm} BBSes. This
is due to the fact that the co-founders of DOVE-Net are also the
developers of Synchronet BBS software. DOVE-Net is not limited to one
specific BBS package and welcomes any QWK or Fido network compatible BBS
to join as long as their software of choice does not interfere with the operation of the network in any way.

Seems to be QWK only, not sure if WWIV BBS or D'Bridge would be best at
that, but Mystic isn't quite up to it yet. My guess is WWIV will do it
and can send it to the other two. I know Mystic's binkp will work fine
with WWIV I don't know what D'Bridge will handle. Vertrauen is the main
source I believe, so I'd try there or where ever they say is a good replacement source.

Mystic is the only software I have running that can natively do anything with QWK networking. I wasn't sure if it had the ability to gate to FTN, but it appears that Synchronet is the only software that can do that (which is what Gaylen was using to send me that network in FTN format).

I believe you can also use NNTP - which if the case, might be able to use D'Bridge to pick it up using that method.
