You're most welcome. I'm sure you'll be able to do that too Nick :)

    Hope so :)

Hey, I noticed you're online. Any chance of catching up sometime soon? I'm kinda a little stuck on the Filefix side of things.

I've managed to get Areafix working, but I've not seen any incoming TIC
files, so cant really tell if I'm doing it right...

    Cheers!

For filefix you can tell if it's working as the HUB will respond to you with netmail that confirms you have linked or delinked from a file base

It won't rescan / resend files to you like areafix does for messages. That's nothing that has been built in to it as yet by the author g00r00, and how
much it does end up doing is really a matter for the fullness of time.

New files added to the file areas you're linked to will be tossed to your
node with accompanying .TIC files... so it's a case of wait to see one
hatched out, look for an announcement in FSX_GEN or FSX_BOT when they are... and then check to see they were tossed by MUTIL when they land in your echomail\in folder

If something is amiss with the file import process it will show in the logs
and the files will likely be moved to your badfile area :)

    Hope that helps.

I'm not at home, just checking messages from work during my lunch break... it helps me keep on top of replies etc. :)

    Best, Paul

Ahhh! That makes much more sense. I had assumed I coould 'R=10' each of the file groups to get the last 10 posts. Now that I know this, I've linked to all the groups (at least for now), but I've not created the file groups either.
I'd like to make sure that the Mystic config/filetoss is setup correctly to autocreate the filegroups.

Haha! And fair enough too. Did you notice your BBS has a ton of incoming Telnet sessions. They seem to be all sitting on the Login Screen.

Maybe a DDOS? It was regecting connection attempts recently with a "BUSY" error.

    Thanks again, Nick

    PS.

Also, based on what I've seen so far, and the now partially resolved Filefix/TIC issue I was having - I think you could safely setup BINK.

I've double checked all the networking and port forwarding. I've set the server to autorun on server boot. I think it should be all good now.

    Next up? Customization! :D

    Cheers! Nick

    Hey ThatGuy,
I thought the same with filefix but yeah it will send out when they are hatched.

Yeah you will get lots of random connections just sniffing ports. I set the login time to like 2 minutes and I run like 10 nodes so that there is pretty much always nodes free but yeah I get constant connections that just sit at login screen. They do get BANNED by mystic after a while
    Cheers,
    Steve

    So I have Filefix setup.

If I subscribe to a Filefix area, will it send files and corresponding tic files along with it? Or just files? Or what should expect?

Yes, it will send files and associated tics to systems linked to those
areas when new files come in via .TIC files.

Yes, it creates the modified .tic files with the updated seenbys and addressing.
