  • Indexed messages showing unread incorrectly

    Hi All - I've been seeing an issue where in some message bases, the indexed message reader reports unread messages incorrectly. I.e. in a couple of bases there are 2-3 unread messages reported, but if I select that base from the indexed message reader, nothing comes up.

    There were a couple of corrupted looking messages that arrived in these echomail bases that I deleted earlier, which I suspect threw something off.
    The overnight maintenance tasks (including message base pack) didn't fix it. Any ideas?

    Not a big deal at all, but just figured I'd ask if anyone had seen this
    before.

    Private messages by any chance?

    Once, you've packed the base the deleted messages should be gone so the
    count should be correct with no mystery messages.

    Private messages are possible in echo areas although I don't think anyone
    uses that these days.

    A reader like golded or timed would give you a view of all the messages
    in a base regardless of who they are to and if they have the private bit
    set.
