• QWK How to??

From HusTler@21:4/10 to All on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 13:16:05
Is there a "How to" Doc or Video for setting up a QWK network with Mystic? Do I still need to setup a node address FTN style? I can't find any DOC's on setting up the BBS with a FSX QWK network. I have an established Hub and know my settings. How do I get Mystic to connect to the hub, download the qwk packet
and put the messages in the correct areas? Can that be done in Mystic?

QWKPOLL is the way to do it in mystic.

You need to change a few settings at the hub. Mystic doesn't support <CTRL>A codes so you'll want to turn them off.

You'll probably want to set the hub to export QWKE packets also and set that in
Mystics setup also so subject lines and the like don't get truncated.

No, you don't need any FTN address or others.

I haven't tried QWK networking in Mystic, but it should be pretty straightforward. You'd need your QWK hub's account details and QWKID. It should be pretty straightforward. I've had Mystic BBSs as QWK downlinks.

I don't use Mystic for QWK here, as I have Synchronet handling all my QWK networked traffic. Mystic is my FTN hub.

Obviously Mystic doesn't use the extra data that Synchronet uses (which means QWKE is not required between SBBS systems).

No it isn't, but it could be useful when other systems (like Mystic) are involved.

True. :) Maybe one day Mystic will be able to make used of that extra information when QWK networking. I really like how SBBS does QWK networks.
