have it that I can download it?? I finally hooked up the BBS to my gmail account for password resets and figured I would do set up a new user validation sequence... Any help??

Mystic A43 does this automatically, you don't need anything extra - just set the SMTP outgoing stuff in the servers section, and roberts your mothers brother.

In built email validation is not something I know of in Mystic but there are bits ('validated' field in user records) that are sitting there for
it to be enabled. What is working at present and enabled is the password reset option if you have things set up correctly, that can be emailed to
a user requesting it.

I've seen it before as well. I can't remember which boards it was on though... I'll keep an eye out for it.
This probably will create more questions than answers, but somewhere I came across a generic door-like program, not specific to SBBS or any board, that was a caller verifier for telnet BBS's. It was a while back, long before I seriously decided to put a board online. So there is, or was, something out there with potential. I've Googled around but no luck finding it again. I also browsed through my Night Owl, etc CDs and found several verifiers, but all from the dial up days with no telnet support. FWIW.
There's definitely one for Mystic.. I logged onto a board a few weeks
ago as a new user and I ran through it, I am 99% sure it was Mystic.. I will keep looking.. I appreciate you all responding..

upgrade them to visiting sysop but it does not send an email. I
remember him saying something about having or working on one that did. Might check out his board?
no it was an email validation mpl i did with icedevil back in the 1.08 days, i was thinking about making it for 1.12 but now g00r00 is working
on the smtp pop3 and i don't want to do all that work for nothing if he has one built in.
