My on going Fossil display problem is:
I am setting up Infocom Games to play on the BBS with out DOSBox.
I have gotten them to play and work just fine, how ever certain games like "Nord and Bert" or "Suspended" will not display on the BBS user end. You can see them playing on the BBS local side, the blind user side can issue commands while the user wont see the commands they do execute on the BBS side. Example as user I start to play Nord and Bert the only thing I see on the user side
is the Fossil Driver text that always shows before the game starts. Nothing else. On the BBS machine in the user window I see the game just fine. User
side can press Q to quite and ENTER and it will exit the game and then resume showing the DOORS menu to the user like normal.
I have tried this with even FROTZ to play the game.dat file, same effect. How ever if i give FROTZ an illegal operation when executed it will show all the FROTZ options on both the USER end and BBS end just fine. If i set FROTZ to execute the game like "FROTZ -d 0 nordandb.dat" (to play the game in
monochrome mode) it works on the BBS end like I stated above but the user sees nothing till they issue the Q and ENTER to exit the game, then the user will resume seeing the DOORS menu.
So with weeks of trial and error it feels like this could be a fossil issue?
My setup on the BBS end is Mystic a43, Windows 7 32bit, NetFoss Fossil Driver.
So I am open to any suggestions on what to try to make NetFoss show these select Infocom games that don't show on the user end.
In the mean time an ice cold cerveza sounds soo good!
