• Netmails I can't read

    From Avon@21:1/101 to All on Sunday, April 21, 2019 12:21:58
    Here's a top tip of you see netmails you think may be for you and you can't read them... check your MUTIL logs to see who it's for and if you see a misspell of your name add it to the remapping in your mailin.ini so netmails with the same error make it to you next time :)

    Can you send a test netmail again to 21:1/101 to Paul Hayton

    I'll confirm if I see anything in the next 24 hours. Let me know when you
    send it. It may pay to set MUTIL logging to level3 and check it's being exported and send via fidopoll logs also to your HUB

    OK well nothing is making it here. Can you post your logging please :)

    Fidopoll log size is not able to be set (yet) but when g00r00 enables the server logging options I think then that you will be able to control that.

    Well this tells me it was not exported to any echomail node as it says 0 net

    Is the base you posted in set as a netmail type?
    Do you have Route Info in the fsxNet echomail node set to 21:*
    What other echomail nodes do you have defined and active, what Route Info settings do they have?

    I'd be happy to login to check your setup and help debug if you would like. Given netmail is not working feel free to email me at avon@bbs.nz if you
    would like to work a time that suits :)

    I question if you need to run this each time you export netmail / echomail.

    Check in your ExportEchomail function you have the following set

    [ExportEchoMail]

    ; Do not export messages from users currently online
    skip_online = false

    it is netmail type

    Do you have Route Info in the fsxNet echomail node set to 21:*
    I never put in any sort of route info for any network - thought it should always go direct.

    Av> What other echomail nodes do you have defined and

    I have fightonet, and retronet - neither have any route info defined, should they???

    also, when I tried to do ./fidopoll 21:1/101 - it failed because of bad ip address 0.0.something.something (don't remeber the last two)

    while typing this, I did another poll to you, and system says

    good

    Do you have Route Info in the fsxNet echomail node set to 21:*
    I never put in any sort of route info for any network - thought it should always go direct.

    Well if you have the echonode you are writing a netmail to set up then yes it will else it will route via another echonode by looking at the route info
    line in each defined echonode.

    Av> What other echomail nodes do you have defined and
    active, what Route Info Av> settings do they have?

    I have fightonet, and retronet - neither have any route info defined, should they???

    yes

    In fido your route info should be 1:* 2:* 3:* 4:*

    In retro do the same for it's zone number. where x = zone number it would be x:*

    This says route all netmails that can't be delivered to a known/defined echomail node via 'this' echomail node is the rules in 'route info' match

    so for your fido link it will send netmails addressed to any address in zones 1-4 via it

    also, when I tried to do ./fidopoll 21:1/101 - it failed because of bad
    ip address 0.0.something.something (don't remeber the last two)

    Have you complied a nodelist using mergenodelists function in MUTIL? Do you
    see a nodelist.txt file in your data dir? Fidopoll will look to that for info.

    while typing this, I did another poll to you, and system says

    Info TIME Tue, 23 Apr 2019 23:31:22 +1200
    Mailer binkd/1.1a-89/Win32 binkp/1.1
    Info TRF 0 0

    In this case you are polling the wrong system as I run multiple mailers on different ports.

    24554 = BinkD (3:770/1) Fidonet HUB
    24555 = BinkP (21:1/101 etc.) Agency BBS
    24556 = BinkP (21:1/100) fsxNet NET 1 HUB
    24557 = BinkD (21:1/10) Usenet + Games HUB for fsxNet

    So here's the logging I see of you sending me stuff to the Fidonet HUB in
