• Unable to read a Message

From bamageek@21:1/140 to All on Friday, March 22, 2019 15:30:46
I had this issue before and never figured it out. Thought maybe it was
because of some stability issues previously, however, the BBS has been rock solid for quite some time now.

The issue is that when I scan for new messages, there is one message in my Netmail folder. However, I can't read it. I can read all the other messages
but the last one & have no way that I can find to see it. Has anyone had this issue and is there a way to get in and see what that message is?

I see a count of 1 for netmail, but can't access that one. It doesn't show as "new" though.. I just assumed it wasn't to me, thus not visible.

This means there is a netmail that is new in the base but it is *not*
addressed to you. It may be that it's the case and for someone else or it has been sent to you but your name or alias has been misspelled.

One way to check if it is the latter is to review your MUTIL logs to look at the name of the recipient the netmail was sent to. If it's for you you can
temp change your alias to the incorrect name in order to view it.

    Best, Paul

Where is it that you are seeing that you have one message? Its probably a situation where you don't actually have a message in there, but we'll get to the bottom of it.

There is a small chance that it could report the wrong thing (this is sort of intentional as part of how it calculates the statistics). But also, the total messages do not include just your messages I don't think - it shows total messages for everyone.

Yes, that could be one case where you'd see a 1 for total messages. Its
total messages in the Netmail base not specific to you. Maybe this is something I can/should change for Netmail style bases.

That must be the issue maybe it isn't for me. When I do the Indexed Message scan it shows up in Netmail with a total of 1 messages, 0 new and 0 for me. I wasnt able to find a way to read it. I'll go back through my mutil logs later and see if I can find where it came in and who it may be to
