Are there options for sorting echoes in the indexed mail reader?

Having now added Fidonet to my board, and subscribing initially to all 429 echoes available from my feed, suddenly sorting became a productivity issue. I've noticed the indexed reader likes to sort echoes with new posts to the
top, which makes sense, but I don't read every echo every day, so I still end up with a couple pages of echoes to look through.

It'd be nice if there were a way to pin favorite echoes to the top of the
sort list. What I do ATM is force them to the top by adding a space at the beginning of the echo description.

I know this isn't an answer to what you want but I find myself with the new Indexer just tabbing to tag each of the fidonet echos I don't want to read
then when I am done going through everything just CTRL-C to mark them as
read.. It doesn't take long to mark read a ton of echos..

It's not that I don't want to read them, it's more that I want to read my favorites now and save the others for later. So in my case marking them read would be counter-productive.

But I gather there's no way currently to pin favorites to the top. No biggie. My work-around effectively does the same thing.

Yep you're correct, you can order the appearance of the groups but that's
about it.. a custom list of assorted echos would be welcome I agree.

If you use the newscan method to read through your messages, then you can use the 'G' command (when reading a message) to 'Go to the next base'. This basically skips the current message base, leaving the last read pointers
alone.
