  • Pre Alpha download empty..

    Last week on the 5th I updated to the latest pre-alpha then over the past few days I noticed other BBS's have an improved Index Reader and was told it is
    in the latest Pre-Alpha. Well today I go to the Pre-Alpha download location multiple times through out the day and there are just files now for Netrunner but no Mystic. Am I in a twilight zone?

    Just noticed that myself.. Must mean g00r00 released the latest pre-alpha to alpha.. I sent you a message on my board, the command is M! that you need to change in your menu options.. That will give you the new Indexer... :)

    Check out just /downloads - they've been moved to alpha status (not pre-alpha now).

    A43 is in there, I just checked...

    Thanx, Got it! But man mine is displaying really wonky! Group titles are missing and when you arrow up and down things change and NEW appears then disappears on stuff. I know I'm on flu meds but this is messing with me all the more! LOL

    it should be in the version you have now. you prolly never copied it over?

    You didn't copy the ANSI files that the docs tell you to. Even if you did do
    it again.. I could have sworn I copied them the first time but I guess I didn't.. They are located in the TEXT directory. I don't remember the names
    off the top of my head...

    Guess I followed the instructions too well, I went by the instructions in the upgrade.txt for: UPGRADING FROM 1.12 A42 to A43 and in there it only told me to copy userchat.ans and userchat.ini. So after copying msg_index.ini, msg_index.ans and msg_index_help.ans as stated in section UPGRADING FROM
    1.12 A39 to A40 in the upgrade.txt the index reader corrected itself.

    Thanks again for the lead Bucho!! I think im up to about 3 beers I owe you
    now! ;)

    That will get you A43 which is the latest. There is no pre-alphas of A44 yet.

    If you're looking to use the "work in progress" index reader make sure you
    copy over msg_index* into your TEXT directory. The whatsnew doesn't say that because technically this new index reader isn't "done" yet. It will replace the old one sometime during the A44 prealphas probably.

    Yep sorry all I hadn't had a chance to post in here to say it was released
    yet. Its really just the "latest" prealpha that was made Alpha.

    me nothing, I have been trying to help SysOp's for years and I am finally learning enough about Mystic that I can pay it forward for the guys who have helped me. AL and AVON.. Glad it worked out. :)
