• Suggestion - echomail nodes

    From Avon@21:1/101 to g00r00 on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 21:35:55
    Just an idea.

When someone had loaded the address details for an echomail node into the address field on page 1, could that then be displayed on some of the other pages?

This means when you are on page 4 for BinkP you can tell quickly which
address you are configuring for vs. having to jump page to page 1 again to check.

It could be either displayed on the right hand lower corner above the 'page 1 of 6' display or perhaps in the top of the window near the ID number?

Ideally the domain name also would be displayed on pages 1-6 in the same location... e.g.

    Û
    Û
    Node: 21:1/101@fsxnet Û
    Û
    Û
    Page 1 of 6 Û
    ÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÜÛ

It will now show it in the header:
    Old: EchoMail Node (ID 1)
    New: Node ID 1 (21:1/100@fsxnet)

I've also reworked the list of nodes per your feedback. I shortened the Description field to 25 down from 35, maxed the window size out, and some
other minor changes. I was able to it in the SysOp name (well the first 20 characters) that way.

I'll try to get a new build up within the next 4-8 hours

It looks much better thanks. I think it adds value to see all of this info
from the screen and it certainly helps when you're 2-3 pages into an echonode config to be able to tell which echonode it was you're working on :)

You're welcome. I agree they are worthwhile changes that aren't very
difficult to make. I think I slipped in the SysOp name when polling in fidopoll as well.

The header of the window doesn't update when you change the address or
domain. I actually updated my Box widget so it could dynamically update the header while editing, but then I ended up not using it anyway. I sort of
like having a record of what it was when you started editing, just in case
you accidentally zero out the address or domain or something.
