Right now, on my BBS I have it set up so that if you want a subdomain
off of "bbsforever.com" you can just log in, add an entry and it'll be live within a few moments (dns propagation dependent of course).
As an example I've used it to set up "tqw.bbsforever.com" to point to my bbs domain of "bbs.erb.pw". It uses the CNAME record type.
I've opened this up to anyone who would like to use it, as a way to say thank you to all the people who have shown me help and support and kindness with my BBSing woes and wins.
That's very kind and what a neat idea Christian. I'll try an login
tonight to have a play :)

Hey y'all,
I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but last week I registered a
domain "bbsforever.com" and I've written an app for Mystic that can add/edit/delete dns entries for a domain name.

That's pretty cool! :)

Thanks! I wanted to do it to give something back to the community that
has helped me so much over the last few months with getting my BBS set
up, linked to fsxNet, started my own "otherNet" (tqwNet), and in the
last week or two started coding stuff for my BBS.
Feel free to pop over here to TQW to get yourself a couple of
subdomains on me =)
What's your net about? ;)
Will have to check it out sometime. Hmm, I've got a gazillion domains here as it is, and all you need to do is join my othernet to get a hostname automagically. :D
Very cool maybe I can set up an event type for updating the IP address when it changes there or something.

Well, it hasn't officially got a "theme" yet, it was mostly a project
just to learn about how they work and run, but seems to edge towards
tech with a dash of sciencey stuff (im personally interested in science and astrophysics).

Yes, I have also thought about doing hostnames for all net nodes. Very cool idea!

Thanks!
I wrote a little bash script to do that for me, but it would be cool to integrate it into Mystic officially too =)
OK, cool. I'd definitely be interested in those topics. Might have to join you (and you'll get practice in adding nodes ;) ).

Sounds great. I used to also dabble in amateur radio too so we have
that in common also. My call sign is M3EHW (only a foundation level amateur sadly, never got round to progressing up to intermediate or further.
I used to operate a Yaesu FT-840 upto 20m plus 2m and 70cm on a
handheld. That was fantastic.
