  • Upgrade from A39 -> A42 successful

    Hi all,

    I just wanted to post that I managed to upgrade from A39 -> A42 no problems.

    I made backups of the entire /mystic/ folder first, then installed A42 to /root/mystic_upgrade/mystic_a42/ just to get a new install.

    I went to my /mystic/ folder and backed up all the files I needed the new ones from to /mystic/bak/ and copied the new updated files from /root/mystic_upgrade/mystic_a42/.

    I repeated this step for the files that needed replacing from the text/ and data/ folders, and then modified the data/default.txt from my A39 install with the updated prompts.

    After I ran upgrade and then finally re-compiled the mpl's in the scripts/ folder recursively and launched the server.

    I am able to connect to my BBS and assuming that this gets out I can post and hopefully receive echomail still, in fact I'm sure that everything will work just as before the upgrade.

    Awesome. Looks like I did everything right then. I celebrated my successful upgrade with a new feature on the pre-login. StackFault's ThreatSentry app. I think it's quite wonderful and clever.

    There are some really very clever people on here keeping this old time system alive, and I am grateful to know some of them.

    Now I just need to figure out how to do ansi's to really give my BBS home
    some uniqueness.
