    g00r00,

    Unsure if this one has under gone much change but when I read up on this one
    it was supposed to be the following command:

    C-Current Area -> Command: MR Data: N
    G-Current Group -> Command: MN Data: leave blank
    A-All Groups -> Command: MN Data: /G
    P-Personal -> Command: MN Data: /P

    The second seems to act like the 3rd one All Groups if left blank, Am I doing this wrong or is there supposed to be a Data field entry that I am missing?

    Thanks!

    I just documented it on the Wiki as I realized it wasn't there. But you're right it should just scan the current group when left blank. I just tested it here and it seems to be working on my BBS.

    Thank you for the reply g00r00. =D here is how I am setup and maybe this
    throws a monkey wrench into things.

    OK say this base has the security: (s20g2)|(s20g10)

    g2 is a private group hidden and also marked as private. and g10 is fsx. Somehow I believe the scan is checking the g2 base even though it is private and marked so in the group settings.

    So if we have this setup and I do this for every group has g2 listed and its private it seems to start with this group even though it is not marked as public. Should I handle the security differently for this type of access setting setup?

    Looking for any suggestions as I do not do things in the normal sense. =P

    Cheers!

    Yes this is sort of true. When you do a global it just ignores group
    checking. So in other words if you have g1|g10 they'll both be "true" always when doing a global scan.

    There is no "private" setting there is a hidden setting, which only hides it from the group listing (when a user is changing/selecting a group, kind of
    like the "list ACS" in a message base). It sounds like there might be a
    little confusion as to how the hidden flag works.

    I changed this to one group and removed the hidden one, but still seems to
    scan all base's or groups from the start.

    I definately got those confused and really did mean hidden not private.

    Thank you!

    OK I figured this out and was an issue with me, the one between the kb and
    the chair. lol .. I never set the group to the read acs in each area which solved this problem for me. so something like this both for list/read acs fields which I just did not think of s20g2.

    Thanks again!
