    Hello -
IS there a way to allow ANSI music to work in mystic/netrunner ?
    Thanks

No, ANSI music is not supported. I think Mystic itself may filter it out if you try to put it in your ANSI files even. Now that part I can probably
    change relatively easily. But...

Adding ANSI music itself into NetRunner might be a little bit more of a process considering it doesn't use any sort of audio subsystem at all, so I will need to look into that.

I am still having some issues with FreePascal and SDL2 though which has caused me to stop working on NetRunner for the moment. I really don't believe there is a problem with my code considering the same code behaves differently when compiled with Free Pascal 3.0.2 vs 3.0.4.

I'll put it on my list. Are there any games that actually use it? I think I remember The Pit back in the day supported it but that is all I can think of.

You know you want to implement one of those annoying connect sounds like Terminate or Telix! lol! Better yet, have it configurable between the
different old skool connect sounds. lol! BTW, love netrunner! :)

I might actually do that if I add ANSI music :)

I also have an connect ANSI too that I never implemented that maybe I could finally add in. Its a bit obnoxious though, but I could always make these optional.

I see , well if you can make mystic not filter it that would cool, I cant
think of any game off hand but was thinking it would be a cool mod to go back to .
    Thanks

Do it! It would be fun! :D Truth be known, I'd probably play with it for a
few days, then disable it. lol! I finally got Terminate to work in dosbox,
and when it connected and made the sound my sister, who was there at the
time, jumped and asked "what was that?" I said "an old friend." lol!

Bwahahahaha... Yeah, I noticed there is no connected screens. That would be interesting as well. Just getting back to old skool practices. ;)

Operation Overkill II has its special little emulation. Syncterm has it implemented, and they have their own OOII term program that works, but I don't think anyone else has implemented it.

Being able to add ANSI music to a gallery would be nice for those wishing to have that. I seem to remember a gallery door that boasted ANSI music support, but the name escapes me. I'll have to do a lookup on it and see what I can find.

Haha thats great! I can still hear some of those chimes in my brain even though I haven't actually heard them for probably 20 years! But to be perfectly honest, NetRunner doesn't get a lot of my time so it might be a while before I look into the ANSI music thing. Your sister's ears may be safe for a little while longer lol

Its a pretty obnoxious full screen "CONNECT" ansi that looks a little like an LCD screen. I've had it sitting here for probably 20 years and I never added it in yet.

Enabling ANSI music on the Mystic side will be pretty simple (I think), so that is something I may do soon. It might even work already in Windows its just on the Linux/macOS side that it probably doesn't.

I suspect I'll get this done sometime "soon" but that support for it on the NetRunner side will be a much longer time coming.

Hehehe... That was the first time in decades I'd fired it up and I
honestly wasn't expecting it either, and it made me jump a bit myself. LMAO! Yeah, I fired up QMPro the other day just to play with it again. Man, the connect noises are brutal if you forget you have the volume turned up. lol! Great fun! ANSI music is a luxury anyway, so it's no big rush. :)

Hehehe... 20 years too long! Bwahahaha... If you implement it, I might keep
it on, just to have a bit of nostalgic annoyance. lol

Well, in Linux you have multiple sound drivers it *could* use, depending on
    the system and distro. Ugh...

Soon(TM)? lol! Yeah, I know how it goes. You're swamped at work and Mystic is priority for home projects. No bigs man, I understand. :)

Linux is great.. regardless of what drivers are in use it still calls access
to the sound from /dev/pcm or it's equivalient, so you just need a device
call and if it varies you just symlink it
