• Binkd Log format

From bl00d@21:1/162 to All on Saturday, October 29, 2016 12:24:00
One thing that I feel like I am missing is a readable log format for the
binkd connections. I always found it easy to read binkd's logs. Other mailers
I have used had logs that were somewhat easy to read. But Mystics fidopoll
log is not very readable, atleast for me.

Is there a way to change the log level for fidopoll or something? I think if
I could just get rid of the "Sent:"s and "Recv:"s, it would be easier to
    read.

    Am I missing something here?

No, not at this stage the logging outside of MUTIL is hard coded by g00r00.
It does vary between alphas in the level of detail output as when there is debugging going on for Binkp server or Fidopoll etc. he raises the logging.

I'm partly to blame for the current level of detail in the Fidopoll logging
as I'd picked up an issue around limits to AKAs being presented by Fidopoll
and g00r00 had raised the output levels to help debug it. The issue was fixed in this current alpha or an earlier one (can't recall) but then g00r00 went
on a break and so the details logs remain until he comes back and picks up
    with alpha 32 etc.

    Am I missing something here?

Hope that explains it, and yep, agree with you that some options to set
logging output levels like MUTIL would be good to have for these other logs :)

    Yea that makes sense.

Aha! So it's you! You are to blame! Just kidding. That explains all the
    detail then.

Yup, it would be nice to have logging levels for all the different
    logs.

I like to have an ssh running that is tailing (using colortail) to show
various mystic logs and it would be nice if we could control the
detail. Like for the BinkD log, I just want to see the remove node
    info, files sent/received and failures.

    Thanks for the info!!
