From Bucko@21:4/131 to All on Sunday, September 23, 2018 20:17:27
I am having an issue where I can not receive echo mail from Al's system (The Rusty Nail) I get through no problem to him, and send and receive with no issues.. Reading the logs, my system when he calls into me doesn't send him
my AKA 1337:3/102 but when I send to him it does send it.. I also on my end show in my Mystic MIS window that when he connects to me the following Error. error receiving data (Size=28/14472) Any ideas?? Avon?? I am lost here.. As
you all probably know his system is SynchroNet mine is Mystic, I call and receive fine from my SynchroNet... Any help would be much appreciated...

In the case of 1337:3/100 that is a binkd mailer along with HPT and friends. It's a separate system that runs at linode.com.

It is odd. When you poll we get a secure session and mail/files transfer as expected, but when I poll you for some reason I don't see your 1337:3/102 address presented.

In spite of that I do see echo and netmail from your node (when you poll).

So polling Al works and him polling you does not. Right?

Check you have restarted MIS since you added your 1337:3/102 aka?

Check Al's Zone 1337 echonode entry and that you have set correct domain name and session password with him.

Check the case of your session password matches his (ideally upper and 7
    chars or less)

Perhaps set hide akas to No for Al's 1337 echonode

Also check to see in your echomail\inbound if you have some file(s) stuck
there that Al may be trying to send you when he connects but you already have.

    Those are my initial thoughts

    Best, Paul

Interesting. I've never had any issues running Synchronet/binkd <--> Mystic, which is the combination my two systems run, and they do routinely exchange mail with each other.

Yep, mis just needed to be restarted. Mis reads it config when you start it so if you make any changes to echomail nodes, AKAs or the like it needs to be restarted to use those new settings.

First thing you said, restart MIS, I also set Hide AKA's to no.. Something as simple as that can drive you nuts!
