• Little Telnet Help Please

From Solarbaby@21:1/151 to All on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 09:26:00
Racked my brains and experimented but telnet out simply isn't working for me.

I setup the Menu, Selected IT - Telnet Outbound and set the Data to the hostname port

apparently that isn't working for me.

    Anyone ??

I haven't used it that way in months, but I did when it first came out and
it's on my old versions like AlphaTest so I checked it and got to Cyberia no problems just now with:
    (IT) Outbound TELNET /addr=cyberia.darktech.org
as the command setup itself, got in and it worked fine. I was setup as CP437. That should look like what you are doing. It's up at bcw142.zapto.org:2323 under Doors, Other BBS like I used to use it before Gryphon's blam21 came along. AlphaTest is where I try experiments with the software out generally before putting them on the main BBS. It's also 64Bit Linux so shows me if
there are differences between 32bit (Pi) and 64bit.

That worked for me. Thank You. I am also using blam32, however I want to put up a menu that has telnetable mud games. I'll keep that menu seperate from
my local game menu. Now that I understand the telnet command, it's time to figure out how to add a new menu within a menu. I imagine what I'm going to
do is just create a new .ans file within mystic/text.

Thanks again for the good info.
