Wonder if you can guess what I will be doing this afternoon. ;D

    ArcaOS 5.0.5 now available

Arca Noae is proud to announce the general availability of ArcaOS 5.0.5, the fifth maintenance release of ArcaOS 5.0 (Blue Lion).

ArcaOS 5.0.5 introduces support for xHCI (USB3) controllers to install on a wider array of systems than ever before. What’s more, for updaters, even if your USB controller was previously unsupported, and you had to install or update from DVD in the past, you may now boot into the installer from USB
stick to perform the update. USB3-attached keyboards and mice should work, as well.

ArcaOS 5.0.5 includes over 100 updates, enhancements, and fixes since 5.0.4
was released. If you have experienced difficulty installing previous releases of ArcaOS on your hardware, the fixes and updates included in 5.0.5 may
address your issue(s). If installing from USB stick, the image may be created using any major operating system at hand (Windows, Linux, MacOS, and of
course, OS/2, eComStation, and ArcaOS). Once built the USB stick can be inserted into any USB port in the target system to boot into the ArcaOS installer/updater.

For a complete list of updates in this release, see the ArcaOS wiki. Be sure
to review the README.TXT, as well, as this contains critical information to ensure that you get up and running fast, and includes tips for getting things adjusted right away.

This update is included with your valid ArcaOS Support & Maintenance subscription at no additional charge. To download your fresh ISO, simply
visit your customer portal page, select the Orders & Subscriptions link on
the navigation panel to the left, then click on the order for your ArcaOS license. Once there, click the download link to request a fresh ISO, and wait for your notification email.

If your ArcaOS Support & Maintenance subscription has already expired, and
you missed your window of opportunity to renew at regular rates, you may
still renew at less than the cost of a new ArcaOS license.

    Have fune!

Sounds like a lot more fun than trying to fight through overgrown chest-
high raspberry bushes and thorns to reach a barn wall to secure a flapping piece of sheet metal 25 feet above the ground. That's what I did for
    about 2 hours this afternoon.

Hope the wall didn't get the best of you.

1st place I lived in Twin Falls had berries growing on fence row between the properties. Used to take a small bowl out there to harvest as many as we could...since the other guy thought of them as weeds. If you harvested them...hope they are sweet/juicy.

Not fun, but accomplished. I tried leaning a piece of long timber against the flapping sheet metal, but it wasn't heavy enough. The next gust of
wind demonstrated its dominance. I ended up leaning an aluminum extension ladder that could reach the lower part of the sheet metal to stop it from flapping. I am short one extension ladder, but at least I don't have to
bear the banging noise of the sheet metal.

A couple of sheet metal pieces had been already blow off (not really
required anyway) and I used those to pave my way over the thorny rasberry bushes. I thought *that* was pretty clever of me too!

Today it is calm and sunny. I am unable to enjoy my having overthrown the huff n puff of Mr.Wind.

That was clever. I am sad to say that I am wondering if I would have

Out of desparation we can sometimes devise outside-the-box solutions. Initially, I thought I would never get through those twisty pointy
raspberry pikes except if I had a bulldozer or a vehicle that I could use
to just drive through the stuff a few times to flatten everything. A
tractor with a bucket or a blade would have been nice.

He has. I have to make a few adjustments and secure the ladder a bit more into the soft ground.

I'll try to get pics so that yuz guys can see what I was dealing with.

Some pictures of my barn maintenance adventure here:

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qz83HZ5V7Q7VUEd8A

It's a little tour around the barnyard. Nothing much. It is primarily to show how I wrestled the overgrown raspberry bushes to get to the barn
wall. I used scrap sheet metal roofing to flatten the weeds and get
through the raspberry bushes. I had a flapping piece of metal siding high
on the barn wall that was crying for "help me, fix me!". I just pressed an aluminum extension ladder against it. Good enough, for now.

USed to have 2.5acres with a couple of steers at one stage. When we first ¨acquired the block it had a good supply of blackberries and scots thistles. ¨Used to run them down with the ride own as much as possible. You just needed ¨decent tyres or you'd get plenty of punctures. But you could slowly work ¨your way in... cut some of the larger cans out, mow again next time, and ¨spray them as they started to grow back.

Steer's wouldn't eat either of these things, although goats would... nearly ¨borrowed a few for a while...

OMG that is horrible for mower decks and blades also -- the decks being the second most expensive repair on a riding mower. A Bush Hog works really well and designed for cutting up to a specific sized tree starts. Tires are expensive too now .. lol! I only use my ZTR for grass, gives me an excuse to own more power tools.

I thought about growing berries but have heard they can be invasive and our family loves Rasberries.... If there's a cultivar of any berry that tastes
good and isn't invasive, throw your suggestions my way!

:) HAppy to throw new blades at it... never did any real damage to the ¨deck...
on the flip side when you wanted it done faster you'd get someone out ¨with w tractor mounted slasher to make it a bit more reasonable. 1" tall and ¨work on it from there... But this was also the ONLY work this ride on ever ¨did, it was no lawn buggy...

Haven't looked at any for a long time but there are non invasive cultivars ¨around. Otherwise you could go the half wine barrel or similar and pop on in ¨there to keep it contained.

We always rented a tractor with a pull behind brush cutter, or a skid steer with a harly rake sometimes did the trick. My mowers were over $10,000 each, and designed for turf, so I kept those clear of brush. Despite how well the decks are made commercially versus residentially, I had a few bend from employees "hopping off curbs" incorrectly. Usually 800-2500 repairs.

I suppose what I meant by invasive, are those that don't grow out of control
    or too tall.

Ahh yeah this wasn't one of them fancy schmancy jobs... it was about 150 yrs ¨old, in lawn mower years when I got it, I think I still forked out about $400
¨for it... and drove the living daylights out of it for hmmm 5 years or so... ¨It began to get start issues and it was all downhill from there, it eventually
¨went with the block. :) Some of the neighbours thought I worked it pretty ¨hard, but it seemed like a tank to get around on...

Run that by me again? :)
