    Hi,

just dropping in here to say hello.

I used to run a BBS called "The Alien Mindbenders BBS" in southern Denmark in the 90s. It was online from 1992 to around 1997 running a combo of RA and FD. It was accessible initially at 9600 baud, the 14400, then a ZyXEL with 19200 was incorporated until the final upgrade to ISDN, so it could be accessed
using V90 56k or ISDN 64k. It was also accessible using packet radio via CB.

In the last few years, I've meant to relaunch it and with our recent move in January to a more permanent home for the next couple of years and a wee bit more time on my hands, that finally happened.

I'm based in the Republic of Ireland these days. The BBS is again available with V90 analogue 56k or ISDN 64k (X75 and V120), V110 GSM CSD, but also via telnet and ssh (the.alienmindbenders.net) on both IPv4 and IPv6. I still have
a lot of customisation and populating with content to do, so bear with me.

The BBS has been added to Fidonet on Friday (2:263/5) and fsxNet today (21:3/103).

I have a lot of content from the last 2 decades of demo coding events in Denmark and Ireland to upload. So that should be interesting enough.

Anyhow. Thanks for having me and thanks to Avon and Alterego to get me set up on fsxNet.

    Hello marlow!

Anyhow. Thanks for having me and thanks to Avon and Alterego to get me
    set up on fsxNet.

    Welcome aboard!

I, too, used RA + FD for a long time. Now switched to Mystic BBS for the time being.

    Best regards

    Nice.

    V110 GSM CSD,
but also via telnet and ssh (the.alienmindbenders.net) on both IPv4 and IPv6.

    $ ssh the.alienmindbenders.net
Unable to negotiate with xxx.xxx.155.90 port 22: no matching cipher found. Their offer: aes128-cbc,3des-cbc

    Hi,
your ssh client is too strict on ciphers, which is the default on more recent Linux installations.

Mystic BBS still uses an older crypt library. It crashes with the latest one. So the only way to connect using ssh is, that you might have to add those additional ciphers to what is allowed or use telnet ... which is ... well.

Probably mystic, probably cryptlib. Or maybe synchronet. Use syncterm to connect.
