I suspect a lot of people are wondering that in these days of
self-isolation. They are finding all of the "what the hell is this" shows
    on cable, streaming, etc. :)

Interesting reactions. I'm so used to stuff like this that I don't find it particularly weird. I really like Cornelius, a Japanese band.

At my house, I'm seriously considering cutting the cable and going with Netflix, Amazon Video and the free offerings on Roku TVs.

Some of them are pretty interesting (Pluto TV) and others are downright odd
    - one is all old classic science fiction movies and low-budget monster
movies. Old TV series. It reminded me of playing with XBMC, seeing what free content was floating around on the net, unadvertised.

It's definitely fun exploring what's out there.

We cut the cord years ago and never looked back. We technically have a basic AT&T cable package, but that's just because it came with our Internet bundle, which was cheaper than not including it. I just unhooked all the Uverse set
top boxes, added a better router behind the AT&T one, and it's been pretty good.

But it adds up $$ fast. We have Netflix, Hulu (no ads with HBO add-on), Disney+, Amazon, YouTube TV (for 'live' TV) and all the free channels that
Roku offers. Probably the same price as a premium cable subscription, LOL, but it's worth it to me for the freedom of having everything on-demand.
    Especially in "these times."

Been meaning to cancel Disney+ as I only subscribed to watch The Mandalorian and season 2 is months away :)

The best prices I could get from Comcast were $107 for internet + phone, or $127 with basic cable, internet and phone (like the local stations).

AT&T has gigabit fiber for $49.99/month, then $59.99/month afterwards. We have cell phones, but horrible coverage; I'm going to miss having a landline (albeit
voip) if we go AT&T but don't want to pay for a separate POTS line.

The classic sci-fi/monster movie one sounds interesting. Do you remember
    what it is called?

I do have some experience with Pluto. During last football season, one of
the local unis had at least one of their games broadcast live on Pluto. It
was not on ESPN or any other cable network.
