    Hi Jimmy,

This one didn't seem to make it out from the Danger Bay BBS, so I am reposting it from another BBS.

    Hi Jimmy,
In a message to Oli you wrote:

I watched the first episode of Dispatches from Elsewhere and it
is weird. I'm not sure if I will watch the next episodes.
    Interesting find though.

It's up to three episodes and I'm hooked. :-)

It reminds me of a cross between Geocaching (hidden in plain site)
and an Escape Room (looking for clues and solving puzzles.)

I'd love to be involved in something like that for real! :-)

It's actually a dramatization of a "game"/performance-art/role-play game that actually took place.

Each episode opens with the credits that include "Based on the Documentary Motion Picture 'The Institute' by Jeff Hall & Spencer McCall"

After reading about that documentary film, I found this:

    http://cinesourcemagazine.com/index.php?/site/comments/the_man_behind_jejune_an _
    oaklandish_explains

I am not sure exactly when the actual game took place or how long it ran, but it
    was an actual game/social-experiment.

I'm also not sure why it would have a fido point number. Your fido point number
    in an fsxNet area.

If you are uploading a QWK or BW reply packet it should use the BBSs address, not someone elses address in another zone.

It's all good now. The 2 tests with FileBank proved to me that my AKA/config settings did not matter for QWK messages.

I copied that message from my local Sempoint/Squish system. But obviously the MSGID changes when it gets packed and uploaded to the BBS which puts its own msgid in that line.

And indeed it does! The 2 tests with File Bank put me at ease.

Good stuff. For some reason your replies to me are addressed to Al0.

That's OK though.. I know who you mean.. ;)

I noticed that too. I don't see the "0" after "Al" when viewing/reading
and replying with SemPoint. But I notice that when the QWK door at
TheFileBank summarizes the messages, I see "Al0".

I will try replying to the same message to you from either DangerBay or Palantir next.

(This reply is using the wcMessage client, so I expect this one to look

This one is To: Al, so that's good. I saw replies you wrote to others looked OK, so maybe it's because my handle is short?? I'm not sure.

Your's seems to be the only 2-letter name.

Maybe the problem is/was Sempoint dealing with a short 2-letter handle?

I could experiment with a writing another message to "Aa" for example.

Maybe Vk3Jed could oblige and use his Sempoint/QWK to see if he gets the
    same result.

Yeah - I started watching that documentary and caught some dialogue
that was STRAIGHT out of the show, so I stopped watching it so I
wouldn't see any spoilers. I'll go back and check it out after it's
    over...
