From Black Panther@21:1/186 to Net 4 Sysops on Saturday, November 30, 2019 15:55:58
    Hi All,

Just wanted to let everyone know in Net 4, that I've been doing some experiments with the hub system. If you notice something strange or not working, please let me know here, or email me at dan <at> castlerockbbs <dot> com.

I'm looking at speeding up some of the connections, and changing some
software. I hope this will be seamless, and the only thing you'll notice is faster delivery of mail/files, but we all know how that works. :)

I haven't noticed anything strange.. seems to be working well from what I
    can see.

I never had a problem with the 15 minute polling the hubs have been doing
and I can always poll if needed too.. but I think it would be best to
just keep on crashing things around (to crashable nodes).

That more or less what I do here. When stuff arrives I crash it out to
    nodes that are CM.

    That's what I was going for. :)

The problem that I was running into, is the event to crash mail/files to the nodes every 15 minutes, could sometimes take up to 10 minutes to complete. Mystic will do things sequentially, ie toss mail, poll node a, poll node b, etc. With it now running BinkD, the system is sending to 20 nodes at a time. Instead of the 10 minutes it was taking before, it's now completing in about
a minute. BinkD is also able to run while Mystic is tossing mail, so there is no slow-downs. :)

It still needs a bit of tweaking, but I think everything is running a bit smoother and faster. ;)

That more or less what I do here. When stuff arrives I crash it out to nodes that are CM.

That's what I'm able to do now. :)
